PA.. sounds good! THe country is pretty there and I do believe there

are some good attractions that are close by! I may also be partial

because I live in TN and I just don't have any desire to go to CA...LOL

Don't want to drive or FLY with my 3 kids that far! LOL

Southern California is great, everyone (I think) wants to go there!sharinajk <skeathl@...> wrote: Hi everybody I have a couple of questions for other parents about the retreat for families with disabled kids that I'm opening. So…I have one place in the Redwood Forest in CA, it 1 ½ from airport and off the beaten path. One 15 min from airport in PA farm country near Hersey. And a couple in Southern CA up in the Mountains again 1 ½ from airport. I'm still looking all over at various properties. I know its hard to travel with our kids so I'm trying to get feed back from other parents.Where would you like to go. Please consider San Obispo, California....... There is a huge population here of autistic kids/families, and we have wanted something like this but we are too tired to make it happen. Consider Cambria Pines Lodge as that was what we were initially look at for this. You could probably fill it with parents/families just from this area alone. There is another person who was considering this as well locally but they don't have the time to make it a reality. If you want assistance in this, we have formed a new autism center that is just in its infancy. I am on the board of directors and can put you in touch with the interim director. This is something we REALLY need in our town. It is already a tourist area so it would be perfect......

UES!!! In San Obispo County, Central Coast of CA, would be

great! It's a great area to visit with lots to do. Beaches, hiking,

wineries, horses, and more.... Plus a large population of college

students who might like to work for you. The local college has a good

human development department and students need internships.
