Guest guest
My son is hyperlexic. He could read little kid books by age 2. His earliest words were clock and next the letters of the alphabet. He didn't actually CALL me anything until he was 3. He didn't WANT to. It seemed like he was afraid of me actually being someone separate from him somehow. Anyway, I'm off the topic a bit. read very early but lagged around 3rd/4th grade due to vision problems which are fairly common to kids with autism/adhd/learning disabilities. With glasses and vision therapy he's back on track and reading way above grade level. I haven't read anything about different levels/degrees/intensities of hyperlexia. I pretty much consider it a feature of 's asperger syndrome and kind of a special interest like other kids are interested in trains or vacuume cleaners. Miriam Mim Mimmom mimbanash@...
