Guest guest
Patty in Alaska, I'm glad to know you have a doctor's appointment next week. Maybe something straightforward will turn up, something with an easy solution. We'll be thinking of you. Harper

Guest guest
Hi Patty in Alaska, Gosh...I am sorry you're feeling so tired and in pain..... what a lot to deal with all at once... I do agree with Ann though...about the other pain meds. Only take what your doc. perscribes! wouldn't want you to suffer anymore than you already are.... I read somewhere here about hot packs...seem they work for some people....heating pads too are good..... I like a nice hot bath before bed........just be sure to use a good lotion afterwards....(without alcohol in it) bec. of the itching we all have! I sure hope you feel better soon..... HUGS, HUGS, HUGS TO YOU.... Bert. **HAPPY**HOLIDAYS** **AND WARM HUGS** Bert.
Guest guest
Don't take aspirin. It harms the liver. At least that's what my dr. says. You should check with your doctor to find out what they can give you for the pain. I have trouble sleeping and toss and turn most of the night. I sometimes soak in the hot tub for a short time and that helps a little. Hope things get better for you. Ann [ ] just checking in Hi everyone. Im sorry I havent answered any posts lately. I have a Dr appt on Tuesday. Im feeling pretty darn awful! I only sleep about 3 hrs at a time and am tossing and turning the whole time. So I never feel rested. I am extremely irritable my joints are hurting me so badly. My hips, toes, knees, elbows, neck, shoulders, fingers!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not on prednisone right now. Only Imuran. I dont know what in the world is going on. I have had pain before but I can barely climb the stairs. I have been suffering through this since around Thanksgiving. I feel Im going crazy. My liver feels ok though. I have dark circle under my eyes. I havent ever had that before. I had yellow eyes when I was diagnosed. My sister in law thinks I should be checked for anemia. I do have very bad monthly menstruals. I think my world is slowly coming apart for me. I cant even get excited about the holidays. I hurt constantly. I am taking asprin and Ibuprofen but it doesnt last very long and it only takes the edge off. What I would give for a day or two without pain. I really need to regroup and pull myself together. Thanks for the ear everyone... I will post when I know something. Or sooner perhaps. Guest guest
Dear Patty, I am so sorry to hear that you are doing so poorly. Praying that you will feel much better soon. I know what you mean about the constant pain as I have it too. I am so afraid to take anything that will effect my liver that I don't even take the Ibuprophen. Take care and let us know what dr. says. ~~~~~Joanna AIH 8/

Guest guest
Loes, Ibuprofen is just as dangerous as Tylenol. How my liver went into failure and I needed an emergency transplant. My doctors will approve no more than 2 grams of Tylenol, or use Aleve. For me I have so much pain right now I take Percosetts. gayle/trans 6-99 galye@... q~q ^
Guest guest
Caroline, Welcome to the group! I think of myself as " healthy " too (diagnosed with AIH 12/2001)! I am glad to hear you are excercising! I also love to swim and walk. I lift weights, too, to keep the osteoporosis away! I think many people don't realize how much excercise can help. It helps in every possible way, from stress reduction to symptom control! I think that combined with healthy eating it even helps the meds along! Keep on movin'! p.s. I thought I posted this, but it got lost in cyber space...sorry if it double posts later on! > Hi everyone from a kiwi member. Guest guest
Hi Amber, A big WELCOME back to you! My you are the lucky person to trave in Switzerland. Good for you! >Am I suppose to take all the recommended vitamins daily (liquid chlorophyll, vit b,c and e, fish and cod liver oil)? Amber, the supplements are basic ones to help boost your immune system until you get the diet in full swing. After that, you will find most of what you need in the nutrient-dense diet I recommend, except for: fish oils, cod liver oil & chlorophyll (I'm off almost all supplements except these now). But you take cod liver oil in the winter when you don't get enough sun to make vitamins A & D on your skin, and switch to only " fish oils " in the summer, if you do get enough sun. >Also, is purple cabbage ok? And what > about Celestiel Teas? Purple cabbage is great. I think I've had those teas, and if they are decaffeinated they are okay. It's good to have you back. Guest guest
Dear Lara, Thanks so much for the update. I's happy to hear how well you are progressing. I'm not much of a cook, but your fun in the kitchen sounds great. Would you have any recipes you'd want to share - I'll post them in our files. Love your description about Oil of Oregano; I can identify with " drooling afterward holding it your mouth " . When I bought my first bottle of it, it said to put 3 drops under the tongue. Woooeeee! Was that hot, to say the least. My eyes watered and I literally drooled afterward. lol! Cheers, Bee
Guest guest
Suzie, There is a way to swim (for me, at least) without too much pain. If you do the Australian Crawl, there is a way to do it almost in slow motion. Trying it in an empty lap lane helps a lot. One would have to do the correct breathing to do this. Instead of rotating the head and neck, it is possible to roll the whole body sort of like a log, breathe, and roll back the other way. I did this for a long time (no pool available right now) and was taught by another person with back pain. As it turned out, by doing the "slow motion" I actually picked up speed. This did not involve strenuous kicking -- more of a flutter kick. I hope someone out there understands what I am trying to describe! We ended up with a little crew of people all doing the same thing -- no formal teacher. Good luck to you in case you are able to try this. Sharon, are you there? How do you do it? Carole M. Guest guest
Suzie - Glad to see your post. If you have an aqua-jogger-type belt, just put that on and " jog " in the water...even if you don't go anywhere at first. Swimming is over-rated as far as I'm concerned - too painful for me to do right now as well, but if I get in the water and just MOVE, it feels so good to be weightless for a bit. When I am done with my workout, I usually just hold the belt and dangle for a bit before I get out. It allows all of my muscles to stretch just a bit and relaxes me...so nice. That being said, I have a terrible sinus infection (stress got the best of me) and opted to skip the water tonight. Oh, how I would love to be there right now, though. Perhaps I will feel sufficiently well tomorrow. ~kam
