How do you keep a sick ADHD/Asperger child from being overly active while sick? My son won't stay still for even a minute and that brings on really bad coughing. How do you get them to take medicine? My son is on one for behaviors that I can sneak in his orange juice but he can always detect cold medicines in anything. Thanks!

Try to find activities he can do while sitting. You may think, "duh, already did that." lol. But otherwise, how to keep a hyper kid down is a question for the gods, IMO. I would keep explaining to him why he is coughing, why he needs to rest - maybe teach him about his car and how he has an engine that needs to get worked on (being sick) and they can't work on it while the engine is running full speed ahead. Medicine could be special gas. Well, whatever might interest him - you might be able to create a story that would help. Will he watch video's and movies? I know my one ds is hyperactive and he can't sit still long enough to watch movies.
