Update: Riding the bus

Hi, thank you all for responding with your thoughts on my daughters

riding the bus alone to see their father.

I have a letter from my doctor to my lawyer explaining my medical

condition and how long trips are excruciating painful for me (whether

I'm driving or riding...it's the motion of the car). I have

interstitial cystitis.

Also, I got a letter from my daughter's counselor giving her clinical

opinion regarding her medical condition and highly recommending she

not go on the bus or any other form of public transportation alone

with her sister.

A couple of you mentioned your kids riding the school bus. My kids do,

too, but the difference is that they are on the bus with kids they go

to school with, and they see the same people on the bus everyday...and

they are kids, not adult strangers.

Also, with Asperger's and the other conditions, her self-esteem is

low. This would be the first person a predator would go after. The bus

claims to be non-stop; however, the company does say the drivers make

stops to use the restroom and coffee breaks. This means the driver

gets off the bus...and some of the others get off the bus to have a

" smoke " . It wouldn't take much for someone to take the girls off the

bus unnoticed.

I'll keep you all updated when the two lawyers converse and we get a

final decision as to what the solution will be. Their father can drive

his own vehicle. He's been doing it without a complaint for three

years (until now that he's with his girlfriend).

Thank you all for your responses! What a great group!!
