Guest guest
We met with administration/faculty from both my daughter's new school and old school today. My daughter will be going to the new school. However, we have the following in writing: 1. She will have an occupational therapist. 2. She will be in a small classroom (max. 18) 3. She will have a teacher (whom we met today), a paraprofessional and an aide assigned to her class. 4. They will sponsor a " lunch bunch " for her. 5. The aide will assist her during unstructured times. 6. The principal will take my daughter and us on a guided tour of the school and her classroom/desk before the school opens. 7. They will work with the before and after program to ensure they understand my daughter's issues. On a positive note, it looks like my daughter's occupational therapist is being transferred to my daughter's new school. It also looks like the new school is going to transition into a K-8 school, which means one less transition for my daughter. (This will not happen at my daughter's old school.) So....we lost the battle to keep her at her old school, but we lost it well. And we have everything in writing. Jaelynne
