Guest guest
I thought I would let everybody know an update on my son's bus issues. After receiving the phone call from the school about my son screaming on the bus we decided to try to distract him from all of the noise and people on the bus which is one of his big anxiety. We started this week with a color by number color book and also a wipe off letter book which worked very well for Ben but not for the other children on the bus. Come find out there were two children that were bullying up on Ben when the bus driver wasn't looking. One would hit him in the face, steal his backpack, etc while the other would pull his hair and take his book and crayons. The first few days Ben lost almost all of his crayons. I called the school and discussed about Ben ending up with a bruise on his cheek and the other bullying troubles. The school is definitely trying to work with me to help him the best that we can. They decided to start a seating chart on the bus in which Ben is always in the front with a seat to himself. This allows him to work on things without worrying. As for the two children that were having troubles with Ben, they sat them three or four rows back so that they aren't even close to him. So far this is working and we will soon be sending a little CD player so that he can block out the noise of the other children. I just want to thank you all for your thoughts Helen
