Is Making Me Crazy!

had 10 days to do her homework. I told her to do a little bit every day. She did do a couple of pages on Monday, but she still had 16 more pages to go! It is in science class. I told her to do 4 pages every night. She did not. She also had after school detention yesterday for an hour. I told her to do her homework while she was there. She did not. She didn't bring her book home to help her do her homework. Again. So last night, I told her she couldn't move until she got her homework done. She told me she couldn't do it, she couldn't understand this. This really ticked me off because she's waiting until the last minute to tell me this when she should have told me this on Tuesday! I started yelling at her, she was yelling at me, and it escalated from there. I wound up smacking her for her language and she ran up to her room, crying. She told me that she hopes that I die in the hospital (I have nodules on my thyroid that I may need a biopsy for - they may be malignant).

I do think it's important for her to do homework because it reinforces what they learn in school. But she refuses to do it. She is failing three classes right now. I discussed this with her case manager for the IEP and we both know that can do the work, she is just refusing. She never had any problems in school before. Granted, this is freshman year in high school, but how can she go from being on the honor roll to failing half of her classes? I am really very angry at her. The school did find an Italian tutor for her. But science class is special ed and there is an assistant in the class. I don't see why there is a problem. Plus, when I read through the work, the answers are in the homework packet somewhere and definitely in the science book. I showed her how to read through it last time.

I told she won't get into college if she can't pass her classes. She wants to be an Egyptologist.

Just wanted to vent. She and i get very nasty with each other when we are fighting. The psychiatrist told us that we have to communicate better or go our separate ways. Did you ever hear of a psychiatrist saying such a thing? She wants me to ask "please do" ______. LIke, , please feed the animals (which is her job); please do the dishes. I told her I don't feel that I should have to tell "please" to do a job that is on her list of things to do!

Anyway, time to get ready for work or I'll be late!
