Guest guest
We currently impose a pretty strict bedtime on Beth of 8pm – if she can’t sleep she is allowed to sit up and read books for a while but she is in bed. That gives us the evenings to re-charge a little and re-coup as our time. I have recently bought an embossing kit for card making and really enjoy using that – it provides simple, creative designs without a load of mess and even in a few minutes I can produce something worth sending. I also enjoy doing impossibly hard word puzzles/sudoku that I can be absorbed in for half and hour or so and switch off for a little while. We also recently acquired a puppy which gives me the perfect excuse to go for a walk and although anyone is welcome to join me, the rest of the family seldom do J !! Hope this helps, a -----Original Message----- From: [mailto: ] On Behalf Of watergurleblu Sent: 18 March 2009 03:42 To: Subject: ( ) important question for me just wondering what other care givers, parents, do for relaxtion to recoup from all the responsibilites we have. i can't seem to relax and am looking for ideas. we are suppose to take care of ourselves, right? Guest guest
I have a part-time job to take my mind off my kids' stress-inducing habits......but maybe the job causes more stress than the kids.I like to walk my dog whenever I can. He is a good stress reliever.>> just wondering what other care givers, parents, do for relaxtion to recoup from all the responsibilites we have. i can't seem to relax and am looking for ideas. we are suppose to take care of ourselves, right?>

Guest guest
Was there a choice? LOL! Roxanna The government’s view of the economy could be summed up in a few short phrases:If it moves, tax it. If it keeps moving, regulate it.And if it stops moving, subsidize it. Reagan ( ) Re: important question for me >> we are suppose to take care of ourselves, right?Yes, of course, but it is easier said than done, isn't it? Honestly, I feel like slapping those do-gooders who are always wanting to tell me about how I have to put myself first so I can be there for my family. They are kind of missing the crux of the problem.Anyway, what helps me the most is simple exercise (walking, jogging, running, swimming) and journaling. Again, honestly, when I get overwhelmed by how I don't really have time to do such and such, such and such REALLY needs to be done, etc., I say loudly to myself "you can do this" and I stick out a foot (or a hand, to write or typewrite) and simply do it. I could probably go on and on on this subject, but I won't.
