Guest guest
Hi to Everyone, We gave Brook one dose of Risperdal, .5mg the night before last. The next day his teacher called to say that he had vomited 3 times in the morning. He came home from school early, it was a minimum day, and he seemed okay. He was hungry for dinner and hasn't vomited since. We didn't give him any Risperdal last night and are planning on waiting until the weekend to start again. I'm wondering if anyone else has experienced nausea as a side effect. He could also have just been feeling ill, a lot of the other students in his class have been ill lately. Who knows, he can't tell me what's going on. I think he vomited too when we gave him Zoloft last month. Of course he's already on Augmentin which is hard on the stomach. This is unusual for him as he had a Nissen fundoplication and usually can't vomit very easily. Thanks, Marisa

Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Thanks to everyone who responded about nausea and Risperdal. We were ready to try again last night, but my dh accidentally gave Brook a second dose of his Lamictal (for seizures) last night. His respite care worker had already given it to him earlier. I know his Dr had wanted us to be very careful about raising his dose etc. Yikes! Well that's a first for us. Thank goodness he seems fine this am, so I think we will try again tonight with the Risperdal. Guest guest
My 6 year old hasn't had accidents since he was three years old until a few months ago when he started on Risperdal. Now they are every day occurances and part of the time it's several times a day. It seems to be only at home though. How do others handle this problem? His doctor doesn't seem to think it's a problem but he is supposed to compete in the Special Olympics soon and I don't want him to get embarrassed. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks! Guest guest
My Son just started on the Risperdal and I noticed when his medication was a bit to strong he degressed in potty training and wanted to wear a pull up because of accidents. He was on 1ml and then .50 then .25 We took him off the meds for a week then started over again but at half of .25 twice a day and we will slowly raise it to where he needs it to be so that he can still function properly. Not sure if it's the answer your looking for hope it helps.
