Our son got the dx after having trouble in schoolin Nov.06 and it started a turbulent time,since he become depressed and "lost" his friends and abilities almost over a night. We had to deal with meltdowns worse than ever and we could´nt see anybody at all.My husband couldn´t handle the situations and went angry. I felt I had the major part of responsibility and even our relatives couldn´t understand the behaviors of DS.I am sorry to admit I felt quite alone that year and without support except from professionals´. course I forgot...... ......... About DS. If I compare his state of mind and well being now to how it was before...... ......... ......... .Now we see no tantrums. He doesn´t complain any more that he feels ill. His tics are almost diminished. His social skills are more developed as far I can judge. He is happier,more of ease. His anxiety is reduced.He can handle obstacles and adversities much better now.We see a friend or two occasionally, spontaneity is combined with planning and we´ve swapped our former way to think to another,which let us listen to our inner voice.We have come torealise we are not very social and never will be, even if the society around us think we have to be.
