Guest guest
Hi all, New to (1st posting!) and very new to Asperger's. Our 4-year-old son started preschool last September & his " quirks " have established him as an outcast among all of his peers. He is scheduled to be evaluated by Children's National Medical Center in April. We are anticipating a diagnosis of Asperger's or PPD-NOS. He seems incapable of imaginary play and has trouble interacting appropriately with his peers. When he gets really excited, he does things like flap his arms & slap his head. We are seeking an appropriate playgroup/playmate for him in the Northern VA (Fairfax County) area. Some place where he can be himself & not be ridiculed by the other children or their parents. Some place where he can learn & practice social skills. Some place where his clumsiness is seen as clumsiness and nothing more. Thanks for any info/support. --
