Sometimes helping does not help. ie: the opposite of what you intend. Coping is about being oneself, and going what is necessary to survive. Has your son any ideas? ask him. I did what I was afraid of. The total opposite, that's how I coped. Like the frightened cornered animal that charges the enemy. The last resort in many cases. But a step one has to be afraid enough to do. In a noisy social situation I heard nothing. When occupted on a task I heard no distractions.
