Guest guest
I know many of you are married to aspies so I thought this would be a good place to ask...is there a book you've read that has helped you stay in your marriage? I don't mean that I'm not planning on staying in my marriage, I just mean that I read so many books on how to parent better and communicate with my child better, but I think I need those same kinds of books to help me deal with my husband as well! Guest guest
, I am reading this group mainly because of the difficulties I have with my spouse, although I do believe my oldest (25) and youngest (7) dd’s have Asp. I am awaiting 2 books from Amazon right now. They are _The Other Half of Asperger Syndrome: A guide to an Intimate Relationship with a Partner who has Asperger Syndrome_ and _Asperger Syndrome and Long-Term Relationships_. I will try to let report here what I think after I read them. I think I might try to visit that wivesofaspies group too. I am curious… do most of the wives just ‘come to realize’ the spouse’s asperger’s, or is it usually a formal diagnosis? Thanks,
Guest guest
For me it was a " come to realize " thing. My husband realized it too so it helped. > > , > > I am reading this group mainly because of the difficulties I have with my > spouse, although I do believe my oldest (25) and youngest (7) dd's have Asp. > I am awaiting 2 books from Amazon right now. Guest guest
I think with my husband and I to some extent it was that we were similarly weird. I definitely have some asperger traits. Just not as many as my husband. I tend to be more ADD. But I have that " limited range of interests " thing big time. I also have sensory integration dysfunction and am just horribly clumsy. My husband isn't clumsy but he has all the social skill issues and his sensory issues are different from mine.
