Guest guest
I have just found out about this syndrome after observing its affects on my 58 year old brother. He is unsuccessful in living independently without our periodic assistance. Are there resource materials for families who wish to help much older adults that have never been diagnosed nor assisted in any way? Thanks, Gwenne
Guest guest
Yes... at least where I live there is. I work for a rehabilitation agency that supports individuals: children, teens, adults and the elderly. Without a diagnosis as a child I might speak with a physician about your concerns to see whether they can offer guidance in where to begin seeking supports. A government agency may also offer insight: Usually on the web, if you look up supports for persons with disabilities, there will be information for various ages of people requiriing assistance. They should be able to direct you to what is needed/how to achieve an official diagnosis for funding. Or, try your local phone book under rehabilitation/community services and inquire there for further direction. Good-luck... > > I have just found out about this syndrome after observing its affects on > my 58 year old brother. He is unsuccessful in living independently > without our periodic assistance.
