Thank you, my 58 year old brother has not be diagnosed but we

are highly certain this is his problem. Not much out there for older adult

Last

night during the local 11PM news, which was annoying me... I happened to switch

to our local PBS station-WNED- and caught this amazing documentary film about a

young man-Nicky Gottlieb- with Asperger’s Syndrome... I was just about to get

off the treadmill... when they said that at age 21- his mom diagnosed him with

Asperger’s Syndrome and it was then confirmed by doctors...

I have

wavered back and forth about the diagnosis of Asperger’s for my 28 year old

step-son... but after last night... I am absolutely convinced... Nicky and Jay

are so much alike in so many ways... Just the way Nicky expressed himself...

Randy and I were completely convinced... Nicky has a very difficult time

keeping jobs... as did Jay... wants things HIS WAY... and is fired from a

succession of jobs... The family wants independence for Nicky... and he would

much rather go with the comfort of his home/family/TV shows...

Then

later in the program Nicky attends a support group for adults with AS... and I

could see all the mannerisms of my husband’s brother Charlie in the other

people... who is undeniably AS... The folks in the group were all obviously

brilliant amazing individuals...

It’s

absolutely fantastic... By the end of the documentary my husband and I had

great affection for Nicky... for anyone with a loved one on the Autistic

spectrum it is a must see...

I

definitely want to see it again... I haven’t been able to find out whether or

not it will be rebroadcast on WNED... but here is the link to purchase the

DVD...
