I would try to schedule all visits to be short. Better to leave wanting more than to stay too long and suffer. Does understand that he can't change who she is or how she behaves? That is sometimes the hardest part - you keep thinking they will magically change someday or that you can be super good and they will not fall apart.

( ) Visits with Mom

knows that his mom has a lot of mental issues that makes her act like she is & knows he can either go visit her or decide he wants to stay home a few weekends to take a break from her. He will not be staying anymore long periods of time during the summer months. She promises him awesome vacations if he comes for a few weeks like Florida,Hersey Park,Ocean City, Six Flags, etc but they NEVER ever went anywhere all these years except an occasional trip to K Mart. Whoopee Ding! He also knows she is full of it too. It's too long of a time with her & to much then they start to argue because he wants to cut his visit short & come back home. I need to talk to her about if he wants to come home, he needs to. He can go camping with us this yr . He always had fun there. He likes our trail walks that we hike on for miles. We all pack lunches & go. His new Therapist & his new Psych talked him through this last visit with mom over the Christmas vacation & he knows it isn't anything he's done that makes her like she is. It's his decision... he will be 16 in two months. Unless it keeps getting out of hand then It will be my decision & he knows that too. Take care, Betty
