Guest guest
<<I think for him the dx meant that it was permanent and not something he would grow out of. Vickie>>This is exactly the source of my upset. I was thinking she had ADHD/ODD and that with some medication and some behavior therapy she'd grow out of it. I want to thank everyone again for responding to this and to my concerns about the psychiatrist's comments about my daughter not being able to feel emotion and that she could only imitate it. You all reinforced my instinct that it was not true, and as a result I am going to take her to a different doctor. I found a pediatric neurologist who specializes in AS. I believe that psychiatrist is not the doc for us. Thank you all a million times for your support and helpful comments. It is such a relief to talk to people who understand! in FL
