Where we are with all this

Hi All, Tony's tests are all complete and he qualifies for services

under Aspergers syndrom (sp?). Here is what that means, I got a call

yesterday to schedule the IEPC and they wanted my permission to

switch Tony to the special classes he needs before we do the IEP.

Second semester started yesterday so it will be easier on Tony to do

it now than to wait 2-3 weeks to switch his classes. I found out he

got an F in both English and History, so we will wait and see if he

will have to take summer school or what to make up the credits.

Somethings they told me they see in Tony is he has horrible

handwritting but uses a large vocabulary, he needs help with

organizational skills, they are going to work on him tieing his shoes

tighter, and we are going to specify on the IEP that his schedule be

set up next year for one teacher 2 trimesters in a row for the same

class. The school system here is switching from semsters to

trimesters to give the highschoolers more choices and more credit

time.

From the other emails I have read I must be in a really good school

district or I am just seeing a really good side to a not so good

school system. Either way they are looking to do what is best for

Tony and I am glad for that.

Is there anything else I should ask to be specified on his IEP? I

might be missing something since I am new to all this.

Thanks, Patti Coss
