Guest guest
Does anyone know if children with Aspergers are at higher risk of Tourettes as well? I don't know much about Tourettes but the little I do know it really seems to fit my daughter... but she's only 3 1/2 and I wonder how much is typical behavior. She tells me she " has to yell " and it seems like she is often compelled to poke me, touch me in the face or on my arm... almost like she can't help it. The yelling or loud voice I attributed to auditory sensory issue but the poking doesn't seem like it would have much sensory benefit? Not like tight hugs... Thanks, Jen
Guest guest
Tourette S is considered one of the variations of the austistic spectrum. My son was diagnosed PDD-NOS, and is most often refered as having Asperger's S (fits all the Diagnostioc criteria). But he does have some Tourette-like symptoms. I really don't think the difference between some of these 'names' is so clear cut. Thanks and hav a great day. F
Guest guest
I do think there are a number of kids with AS who also have TS. There must be a connection somehow but I don't know if there are any studies proving that or not. A good place to read more about TS is --> http://www.tourettesyndrome.net/ RoxannaYou're UniqueJust like everyone else... ( ) Tourette's ?
