Wow, they are really working hard at not doing their jobs with this kiddo! I know when kids have to work on potty training, sometimes certain people or schools have the idea that they don't have to do these things. You really do need a lawyer, it sounds like, because they are refusing to work with you on his very obvious needs!

Along with the address/number that Pam sent, you can look up sped law lawyers using www.copaa.net . Even if one is not close enough to you, call them anyway as they might have referrals for you. I hope you can find someone to help asap!

Greetings; It's been a while since I've chimed in - I've been one extremly busyguy.Anyway, I've run across problems with my son's school. He's 7 and inthe second grade. He started there the second half of his first gradeyear and we've run across a problem with the school that I think isgoing to require legal action to resolve. Before he started going to this school, he still wasn't completelytoilet trained, and thanks to this school will probably be a long timebefore we can convince him to try again. They've completely neglected his needs to be changed and clean - evengetting sent home in the same diaper he was sent to school in. At firstthe school pushed back saying they didn't have 'medical permission' fromhis doctor to apply medication and change him as needed. So, we jumpedthrough that hoop and got it all setup. After a while, the bloody rashproblem appeared again - we contacted the school to find out why thiswas happening, and they told us they would try better. The next day, they called Child Protective Services on us stating that we were theones neglecting him and again more hoops to jump through.I even was able to get evidence that on the weekends his rash clears up,until Monday. Also, during this last spring break, it was totallycleared up until he went back to school. So after a year and a half ofthis BS going back and forth, they finally told us that he could notattend school anymore until this rash was cleared up. And franky, that's totally fine with me - in fact I will not ever send him back tothat school again. So, the problem that we are facing is now he is totally afraid of thebathroom, when before it was all we could do to keep him from playingaround in the bathroom - in fact, we were sure he would have beencompletely potty trained by summer of last year. Also, he refuses to do a good BM - mostly because of his sore, bleedingbutt. So, now I've talked to the Oregon State Education folks who areinsisting that he have this problem taken care of with a doctor, whennow the problem is psychological in nature. So, I'm at my wits end and really am hoping I can get a referral to agood lawyer to sue the school district - not just for the additionalmedical care required by his neglect, but also psychological care thathe'll need to get over his fears developed by his trama and neglect bythis school.Anyone have a good suggestion or referral to give me?Thanks in advance;Eirik Toft
