Guest guest
Aspergers is not something that can be outgrown just improved. This is from an article online. Do children with AS get better? What happens when they become adults? With effective treatment, children with AS can learn to cope with their disabilities, but they may still find social situations and personal relationships challenging. Many adults with AS are able to work successfully in mainstream jobs, although they may continue to need encouragement and moral support to maintain an independent life. ( ) Any article regarding "outgrowing" asperger's Does anyone know of any research articles that speakabout the possibility of outgrowing aspergers? I havea cousin that is new to the world ofAutism/Asperger' s. She believes that her grandson hasbeen diagnosed early enough (he's 3) that he will"outgrow" it by the time he reaches Kindergarten.I was just trying to find anything that addresses thistopic. Her daughter is having difficulites right nowand is totally overwhelmed with 3 kids under the ageof 3 and her husband is overseas. I don't want mycousin giving "false hope" to her daughter who hasalready been hospitalized for not being able to handleall the stress....Any info would be helpful. I know that our childrenlearn skills to be able to cope in the world thatdoesn't see things like they do. But as far as totallyoutgrowing it.....Thanks,Melinda H
