Guest guest
My daughter was on concerta , and as she grew the dosages had to be adjusted . I really did not like that med . Her med doctor put her on adderall and it seems to sustain her through the day and they do not have to perscibe a big dose . That may be and option to look into . Just wanted to give some insight . There bodies are constantly changing and so the meds need to be adjusted for that. My son is also about 10.5 and he is on 36 mg Concerta. He has been at that dose for a while and it was not working as well as it had so we tried 54 mg. That didn't seem to work either for him. It increased his agitation level pretty significantly. So he now takes his 36 mg of concerta as well as 5 mg Ridlin in the morning as a kind of "jump start" as well as at lunch. This combo seems to work well for him. I would definitely talk to your doctor about the dose and give it a try. It is not a med that will stay in the system long so if it doesn't work you can adjust fromt there.Vickie>> Okay, experienced moms & dads! How do you know if your kid is becoming tolerant to his/her med dosage?> > My DD has been on concerta since Jan. She is on 27 mg at age 10.5, I think that's a little low. She seems like the med isn't kicking in as quickly and it wears off earlier than when she had just started taking it.> > Thanks!> > >
