Guest guest
Hi I used an inhaler for awhile and then the Dr. put me on the nebilizer 4x a day. My breathing has greatly improved I have lung disease and a very hard time breahing. I used to gasp for every breath and now I don't feel any pain or gasp. It's a real nusiance to use the machine that much but worth it. If I miss a tractment I can tell right away/ Hope you have good luck with it Hugs Carolyn
Guest guest
eh, I give up! This e-mail sent itself before I was finished.....tis my sorta luck, I guess. I was going to say that when my breathing was tested this morning it was way down and that I was diagnosed with bronchitis and an ear infection this morning. If the new meds do not clear me up or at least help me, we will be following up with other stuff. I want to crawl into a whole somewhere and never ever come out again. I hope this makes sense.... 4 (chelle) > I am returning for a while. Times are still rough here, but I am > coping. I am wondering if any of you are using an inhaler called > albuterol? It was just prescribed to me this morning and I am afraid that I am going down a new path healthwise. My breathing is way down and when I had the stress echo a year ago, my breathing was very low then. I was diagnosed with bronchitis and an ear infection. At least that is where we are starting with this breathing and chest pain stuff.
Guest guest
hi, i started using albuterol inhalers when i was about 7 years old. there is nothing to be afraid about on using albuterol. albuterol will help you. actually, nowadays, a lot of doctors give their asthmatics albuterol. There is only two things that you should watch out for. Both of these things go with any medication that you take. 1. May be allergic to it (rarely happens). 2. The first few times you take the inhaler you will have to watch how much you are taking. Most people use 2 puffs (doctor will probably instruct you to use only two puffs). If you experience upset stomach, dizziness, light-headed, etc. (includes fainting) this could simply be that the dosage is to high for you to handle. All you have to do then is contact your doctor and she/he will instruct you to take a lower dosage or a different inhaler. To not worry about this. If you experience any symptoms, call your doctor as soon has possible. I have used this for 10+ years and sometimes I still experience this. I have used this inhaler for such a long time that I take 4+ puffs when I use it. I go through two or three inhalers a month. This is very naughty of me. I should contact my doctor to inform her that my body is getting to use to the medication in the inhaler so it takes a lot more of a dosage to help my asthma. My breathing is below average for a person my age. My breathing has always been. This is because I do not use the top half of my lungs due to my chronic asthma. From this I have had fainted because I would stop breathing. Please do not think that this will happen to you. This happens to me because of my long history of my seriously chronic asthma. It is normal for an asthmatic to breath lower. Love, Leigh >From: folchel@... >Reply-egroups >egroups >Subject: Albuterol >Date: Wed, 27 Dec 2000 18:19:07 -0000 > >I am returning for a while. Guest guest
Hi Chelle! Matty was on Albuterol by nebulizer. He got breathing treatments 3 to 4 times a day, unless he had pneumonia, and then we went up to 4 to 6 times a day. The only thing that the doctor told me to watch out for was rapid heartbeat. I guess that happens if you take too much of it or take a normal dose too often. If Matty needed treatments more often than every 4 hours, he had to be in the hospital to monitor him for this. Good luck hon. I hope it helps you. I know that it helped Matty a lot, especially when he had bronchitis or pneumonia. *hugs* folchel@... wrote: > I am returning for a while. Guest guest
My mother is Bi-Polar and uses Albuterol. If she has to take more than normal (a bad asthma day) she is very manic. I think it plays a great deal on the nervos system. She says it makes her hyper and her heart races, she gets a big rush of engery, and bottoms out kinda fast. It can be a lot to deal with. Hope this helps. Nora Bigley <nora9400@...> wrote: Hi,I do not post very often, but I do read many posts. Guest guest
NORA this doesn't answer your question, but wanted to share. I used to give my daughter (NT) Sudafed PE for sinus infections (her Dr. recommended it). UNTIL another doctor said no one should take that. it causes anxiety, mood swings, aggressive behaviors and depression. I was also taking sudafed but the one for headaches. Sudafed worked very well for both of us. (for our colds). but after that other doctor said that. I never bought it again. My AS son also takes Albuteral (as needed) he hasn't taken it such a long time. I also had to give it to him this past December as well. not the nebulizer (spelling) but the pump. I never noticed any mood changes with him at an older age. but when he was 4,5 & 6. He would be very high energy. more than what he already was. it did make him so, very active. No change in mood. Now at 10 years old. I didn't see any change in him at all. Nora Bigley <nora9400@...> wrote: Hi,I do not post very often, but I do read many posts. Guest guest
I have used the abuterol too for asthma.. It shakes the begeesus out of me Now it is important for me to use it if I am having an asthma episode Yet I would rather take control over my environmental triggers for my asthma first. Than take that medicine only in case of emergency. Yes you aren't imagining things.. -- Re: ( ) Albuterol My mother is Bi-Polar and uses Albuterol. Guest guest
I don't know about effects on someone with autism but it can make little kids hyper, can't it? See the doctor and maybe he can take something else. RoxannaAutism Happens ( ) Albuterol Hi,I do not post very often, but I do read many posts. Guest guest
There is a new medication for asthma instead of albuterol, and it is supposed to make the kids feel less nervous, ask your doctor or pharmacist. I can't remember the name right now. Be a better friend, newshound, and know-it-all with Mobile. Try it now.
Guest guest
Thanks for all the replies about albuterol. My son has tried the alternate medication to albuterol, which is called Xopenex and he still gets hyper, increased anxiety and aggressive behavior increases. We only have to treat asthma with sickness or with increased allergies. I will be making an appointment with an allergist.
