Biofeedback works great and, since stress is often the central component of

chronic illness,

this might even trump diet and toxins in etiology and cure. Family doctors ofen

find the

" weakest link in the family " (often a wife, kid or pet) will carry a big toxic

bag of stress for

the whole family, most of whom are " fine " . We used to have an arrogant preacher

when I was

a kid who was PERFECT. And then his poor wife was sick all the time and his son

was a major

juvenile delinquent. It seems obvious to me now that since he was teflon-coated

they were

carrying his projected shadow.

So, I'd say

1) Biofeedback (or other similar stress reducers)

2) Try Dr Tom Cowan

3) Work with the House Doctor (see Database)

4) Continue what you are doing.

You will eventually get there.

Best wishes and thanks for the detailed story of your journey!

I am trying Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) to address health issues.

There is a psychologist in Eden Prairie, Park Nicollet, Brent ,

953-993-7404 who practices and teaches it to patients. So far, I am optimistic.

Check out www.emofree.com to learn more.

Sandy,

Thank you for the detailed response. The WAPF diet has also helped our

family some. But not all of the way. I feel like we're on the right path. Like

we just keep peeling back another layer of truth.

How did you get the GAPS book a year or two ago? I didn't think that it was

available in the U.S. until recently. How long have you been on the diet?

BTW, there IS a GAPS group. Here's the link to their home page:

/

The home page says this: Healing leaky gut with GAPS or BED diets

It may not be exactly what you want, but it may be helpful. I just joined

them. I'm getting ready to start the diet after the holidays.

QUESTION FOR ANYONE WHO WAS AT NATASHA'S LECTURES:

When Natasha gave her 2nd lecture, I happened to be sitting next to her

husband. When the presentation was over, she listed her phone # and

email on the projection screen. I was in a hurry to go and asked her

husband if they were listed in her book. He said yes.

Well, the phone # and email are NOT listed. Did anyone write them

down? If yes, could you give them to me?

Therese

I imagine that phone number begins with 952 rather than 953 area code.

Gut And Psychology Syndrome, as per the book by Dr.Natasha McBride.  You will often see her referenced as Dr. Natasha, NCM, or some such abbreviation, fyi.MaureenOn May 7, 2008, at 2:36 PM, Kathy B wrote:Hello Group, I've not posted before, but have been reading. Hi,

Has anyone tried the GAPS or SC diets with their children and how were the

results?

I am very tempted to try it as I have read about it and have heard good things

about it.

I know that with most aspies the rewards or bribes don't work at all, for sure

not with mine. She'd rather not get stuff.

Punishment is totally against what I believe to be right in parenting and

treating other human beings, so I will definitely not go down that road.

Medication neither, as since I have read in more depth about it I realized they

have no clue what the long term effects are, which is then a no-go for me.

And after reading even more I ended up with the nutritional approach, which does

sound good to me, but I don't know anyone who tried it and what results it gave.

From what I know the diet is a very very healthy one, so even without any

benefits in behaviour it won't harm, so that is pretty good already.

But I do find it a lot of effort, so I would like to hear some more about it

from people who have tried before I go put the effort and money in.

Thanks!

,

I am a big believer in a nutritional approach to healing. My children have done very well on alternative diets over the last 9 months. My sons started GFCF and there were HUGE! benefits. His whole personality changed. We moved to SCD for chronic diarrhea issues with my three year old and it is finally helping combat almost two years of diarrhea.. SCD is even more restrictive than GFCF and GAPS is the MOST restrictive of all. From what some other moms have told me (that have done GAP) is that the "broths" are undesirable and it's a struggle to get the kids to eat it. Which is upsetting... after you go to all the work, money and effort. If you haven't tried GFCF, I would start there. Then remove all processed foods, food colorings and all additives. The SCD is all natural, no preservatives, organic foods that are unprocessed- but your child needs to be able to handle the nut flours

(from an allergy perspective). My son is doing so so so so WELL on SCD. He is gaining weight and with the help of Candidase enzyme and Mucostop we are having FORMED STOOLS! for the first time in years!

Good luck!

I must be blind but I don't see Susie's invite for a GAPS potluck. I'd be

interested too. I think this would be something to post on the GAPSMN group

since it's extremely relevant to that group, so Susie and whoever if you're not

already a member of that group and you're on, starting, thinking about possibly

starting, or have completed GAPS, come on over to the GAPSMN group!
