Hi , whew, long meeting! Glad you feel things went well and I,

too, hope the depakote helps and kicks in soon! Did the psych say how

long it would take to notice a difference if the med is helping?

Unfortunately he said to give it a month. Once the depakote is at a good level for him the dr wants to add an ADHD medicine. He said we should get a different result than we did before the depakote. I was told my son should never have been put on an adhd medicine first. I am glad this dr took his time with everything. Of course there was all the forms that had been filled out beforehand that the dr had read before the appointment.Hopefully we will see results sooner.

I am sorry he can't be medicated. I hope they can get something worked out for him.

My stepson also did very well on Depakote. He also experienced weight gain with it. I was nervous about giving it to my son because my daughter was put on it for seizures but it gave her unbearable headaches so after a few days she was taken off of it. My son is doing fine with it.
