Guest guest
Hi, I'm Lori and I live in West Texas with my AF husband, two sons 17 and 20, and three cats and special needs dog. My oldest son has Asperger's syndrome that was not diagnosed until he was 15, and he has also been recently diagnosed with Crohn's disease. I am wondering how many of your kids may have other medical type issues, especially autoimmune? Or if there is a family history of that? I ask because of the new research and our own situation. Thanks, Lori deep in the heart of Texas
Guest guest
My daughter is 6 and intolerant to gluten and casein. I have rheumatoid arthritis. My uncle has Lupus. My daughter was very colicky and had projectile vomit at every feeding until about 6 months old. Then it decreased in frequency and disappeared at 10 months. She was born at the 25th percentile and dropped to below the 5th percentile by the time she was 4. That is when the talk turned from speech delay to autism. She had severe constipation and was on Miralax since 3. When I removed milk she stopped having constipation and got off the Miralax. Gluten tends to cause problems slowly over time. She had none for a year and then had gluten with enzymes for 6 months. In the beginning she was fine but slowly had more problems with constipation and behavior. So she is gfcf again. My son has PDD NOS and is 3. He is also intolerant to casein. But he is opposite, causes diarrhea. Guest guest
About the autoimmune connection...thats interesting. My Mom has RA, and MS runs in our family as well. I have some sort of autoimmune thing going on I think, that I am trying to get diagnosed right now (very frustrating, WHOLE different subject ) and I have a son with AS. I wonder if there may be a connection? thanks, kate
