Pray for Dr. Millie Gore

Please keep Professor Gore who is the heart and soul of the

Midwestern State University Autism Support Program in your prayers.

I learned this today. It is very moving to me personally, because I

KNOW what she has done for ASD families in this State by doing what

she has done with this program.

Dr. Millie Gore has received a diagnosis of heart failure.

Dr. Gore is in good spirits, but she is reducing her class load and

is also seeing a heart specialist.

She mentioned a few things in her email.

1) She asked that we " hound " the legislators in Texas to provide more

ASD college programs and to support the program at MSU (Millie is

just a wonderful, spirited woman and her choice of words is very much

like her). Of course, this has always been my heart's desire once I

started on the Texas Autism Scholarship effort and also when I

learned how much private law firms are litigating against Down

Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism families in public schools. It

is terrible, but true. If your Special Needs child can't progress

or learn to the standards and with the limited or lack of services

dictated by the State you may be forced out of a public school. The

public law firms will enforce the will of an ISD. They will also do

it at a great profit when litigating.

Back to Professor Millie Gore, please support this Pilot program by

telling others and educators and teachers in your ISD and in the ASD

community.

2) If you are so inclined, please send an email to Dr.

Farrell. Dr. Gore has asked him to expand the Autism Support Program

with another house already. She has received such favorable

responses and many personal requests throughout the State and the

nation that she is hopeful the program can grow soon. PLEASE KEEP IN

MIND (this should be easy and wonderful to do) THAT DR. FARRELL

GRANTED THE START OF THIS PROGRAM AND PROVIDED THIS HOUSE TO THE

UNIVERSITY. He is a University Administrator that has already done

so much for the ASD families and community in Texas. This email

request can be a thank you and a simple request to add another house

to the Autism Support Program. Dr. Gore is already excited about

this expansion. She justs needs a little help.
