Guest guest
I just received a post on this and thought it might be useful to somebody on the list. http://www.workboxsystem.com For anyone looking for a good homeschool system or something to supplement your child's learning, I have recently discovered the Work Box System designed by Sue . Above you will find a link for the group and for Sue's website. This system would also work for toddlers and preschool children who are still at home. It is especially effective with visual learners, special needs, and anyone who needs a little more structure and routine. The system of clear boxes or containers will promote independent work and will help a child learn to follow a sequence of work one box after another. Each box will contain everything needed for that lesson or activity--examples would be a workbook or an individual page of work, a pencil, and scratch paper; scissors, glue, construction paper, crayons; or whatever you select. The work goes in varying levels of difficulty, alternating easier or more fun educational activities. When all the boxes are empty, the child is finished with that day's school work. sue in tn
Guest guest
Sue, I have used this system in my classroom for years, teaching everyone from preschoolers to middle schoolers. It is so easy to change the tasks from readiness to academics to prevocational. I have some directions that I have done in pictures for some of my boxes. I will be happy to share them with anyone who emails me personally. Most of the one's that I have are for readiness, early academics and simple pre-vocational skills. My email address is donnalmoore@.... It may take me a few days to get them back to you,but I will try and honor all requests within the next two weeks. Guest guest
Hi Donna, please share your info and photos with the group/me. I think it sounds like a terrific idea. You can post to the group photos if you would like or if that is difficult my email is sue@.... I have started a networking group in our area for autism/aspergers and have volunteered to come up with meeting topics and this sounds like a good one!
