Looking forward to hearing from you. thankyou BRYAN DOLEZAL <DOLEZAL123@...> wrote: I can help!! What state are you in? Look up the laws for home schooling in your state (or tell me and I will do it for you)---then, I can tell you what to do (nice, huh?!?!----I will HELP YOU!!!!) but I want to 'guide you using the law' and if I am unclear, I WILL ask for help (I have lots of professionals that have home schooled for years so I will give you HONEST, ACCURATE INFORMATION!! It is different in each state. And, if you use the 'un-school' method and I would think one of the other methods, it is as much as YOU want it to cost!!! It can be free, provided you have a library, (computer)---for internet and research (which you must), paper / notebook paper, pencils, and that would be about it....after we know the laws, I can tell you; I am SOOOO experienced LOL----I've done it since October 18, 2007, with my 8th grader, but I REALLY am experienced already; I have DONE all the methods, and I spent way too much money that I did not need to and we are doing the un-schooling method.....you would be shocked of how it works. Please send me your child's (or childrens) ages and diagnosis, that you are home schooling, ages, time you have to do it / if they are in daycare (what kind of hours while you work and what days of the week), and I will kind of walk you through a plan, schedule, happily, and e-mail you information about how it all works, the different kinds, etc. I am going to do it tomorrow though, as I just got home and have worked all day myself, so I would prefer to address it tomorrow. I would like to tell you that you should never send him back, but unless you know that is okay in your state, that you should NOT go that route; in our state, you CAN do that, and there are time limits to file papers, etc.; I don't want to tell you what to do in your state though as you WANT TO FOLLOW THE LETTER OF THE LAW. YOU CAN CALL HIM IN ABSENT for mental health reasons, and I would suggest that you do that, which will be excused, and do not send him Thursday and Friday (that IS okay, and you can do that)....and I would NOT worry about his current work..... I will probably EAT my words and end up sending you stuff tonight, especially if I hear back from you..... Thanks, and you CAN do this, single mom and all, and on limited resources, I PROMISE!! I have been a single mom, and it is like everything---you can find everything free and make nothing fun (or I DID---WE WERE DIRT, DIRT POOOOOR) so I will keep that in mind when I am helping.... PS I have gone from saying 'whatever' and 'yeah, homeschool'---whatever to PREACHING about how wonderful it is.....even I am still shocked (so if you are newer and did not know that, I DO have several people that know me that cannot believe it, and laugh now----especially when I tell them I am helping people to do it now-----I WAS cluecless, but not any more.....it is sooooo awesome, fun, rewarding, and your child IS calm now but you just wait; you will not believe how much he will change; and you will just be shocked that school was SOOOO stressful for them; it is just amazing the difference. We have a new son now!!! Guest guest
Hi , I am also in Mi and I can tell you it is very easy to homeschool here. The only thing you need to do is take a letter into the school telling them you are withdrawing him from school. The law says you do not even have to do that but I did to cover my own backside and so I did not have truancy at my door. My son had a speech teacher that was really against homeschooling and thought I was pulling him out so he would not learn to stick up for himself from the physical bullies. I really do not like her. So after you pull him you do not have to do any reporting, attendance records, testing, or anything else. You can pick what ever way you want to homeschool him and what curriculums to use. Homeschool what ever way you think would be best for him. I hope I have helped, Patti ( ) ASD and bullies My son who is 14 and in the 8th grade is having a very difficult time in school. for the past 2 weeks he has come home from school and told me kids are beating him up.
