Ritalin/Mean/Thanks to All

Thanks to all who replied to my concern about Ritalin. I must say I agree with

those of you who advised that the Dr. wasn't approaching things the way he

should. I was certainly shocked when he asked what drug we wanted to try first.

Who am I to know that? This is the same man, btw, who told me that my dd doesn't

feel love and can only imitate and mirror it back to me, which prompted my

panicked post a few weeks ago. He answered " I don't know " to a very large number

of my questions. We have a recommendation for another doctor, one who

specializes in ASD. I don't think my dh and I would be very surprised if the dx

changed to PDD -NOS. We have an appt. next month. We'll see.

Thank you, also, for all the information on the meds. I hate to medicate her but

I am heartbroken watching her struggle. I know she's trying so hard to behave

but she just can't seem to control it. We've read all these wonderful things

about diets, too, and we're trying that. We figure it certainly can't hurt

anything.
