No need to apologize. I get lectured about if my daughter is really

anxious or perserverating ....I know the difference. But boy does it make me

feel like lousy. I hope I didn't do that to you!!!

Does your daughter have a non verbal learning disoder, does she have difficulty

transitioning, visual spatial orientation, motor cluminess.

My daughter has AS with NLD and is so happy home with Mom talking endlessly :)

and reading her books. She is extremely anxious

at school and has been on home instruction for the last month.

I just wonder if some of these kidos are just in the wrong settings.

Anyway was the Paxil does low 1 mg and only increased slowly?

As Mass General described? You daughter did not seem to get agitated on

medication it sounded like she was overmedicated? I have no idea.

My plan is to try meds but on a very very low dose. If it doesn't help I am not

increasing it.

My daughter does not like therapy. It is somewhat a waste

of money. Tony Attood writes in his book that this kids

don't do good in therapy.

I am seeing a psychitrist tommorrow am and I'll share what I hear about treating

anxiety in AS. The doctor said she would talk about

SSRI's. We'll see.

I am just as concerned and confused as you.

put an innocent child on heavy medication, mind altering drugs - which puts them

into a stupor - a good behavior stupor. so that we can manage them and teach

them, and develop into model people with model behavior. so they can mimic the

NT world? Okay, that's the negative way of looking at it. now for the positive

side: minimizing the stimming and tantrums, nit-pickiness, curt responses and

chutzpah, in order to help them focus and bring out the real true sweet side of

your child's personality.
