Guest guest
What has been better educational experiences, I have found have not necessarily been teachers/administrators with background, but those with a drive to learn. I have met many teachers who do not have experience (including a newly-appointed Principal) with developmental disabilities, IPP's and the like, yet they were passionate about helping the child succeed. If that meant reading extra materials to better educate themselves, attend medical appointments alongside us, and speaking with others who are more fluent in policy, these were the ones who made the difference between a successful year or one that was not. Kudos to all of those who can admit that they may not know a particular issue, but willing to include the parent - happy to take direction at times - with what works individually for that child. To be respectful of each other as valuable educators of the child. Teachers who, take the time to write a note each day to let a parent know how the day went (make sure to reciprocate!) Those with a genuine fondness for teaching and who have not forgotten why they desired the position of a teacher. There really are some good ones out there!
