Guest guest Posted May 1, 2006 Report Share Posted May 1, 2006 My stats: Patti 38 years old Mom of two, 10 year old boy & 9 year old girl news anchor/professor Achalasia symptoms started just about 10 years ago had symptoms for about 2 years before getting help took close to 2 years to get diagnosed after I sought treatment had a heller myotomy with a fundoplication at the mayo clinic 6 years ago swallowing difficulty returned soon after got worse went back to GI had balloon dilitation swallowing difficulty returned I too resigned myself to " just living with it " more recently - persistent cough, unrelenting congestion, pounding heart, full feeling in my chest, and of course difficulty swallowing plan to return to GI > > Hey all you newbies out there.
