Guest guest
Hi guys - just wanted to give an update. We finally have Brady scheduled for his final diagnostic with the autism specialist. I have been waiting for insurance through the state. Here's the deal: I have insurance through work, and only my husband and myself are on the policy. We both have meds to take, and it's cheaper (at 550.00 per month) to pay for the insurance than to pay for the meds. I took the kids off of my medical insurance once I knew that we would qualify for our state health insurance plan. So, they have been off since last July (it's 1100/month for a family of 5 through my work)....and the only major event was a broken arm (which ironically happened 2 weeks after I took them off...and the kid's never been sick a day in his life). Anyways, we have been going back and forth with the state, and I am a little bit worried that we aren't going to get approved. My income fluctuates because i am 100% commission. It just so happened that my last couple of checks at the end of last year were pretty decent/above average. But, my question is (and the reason that I ask this is because one of my customers works for a major insurance company)...ARE there resources out there to help cover the cost of medications...evaluation (which is 300.00 + just for that)...just INCASE we don't get approved for some reason? Because Brayden has this disorder? What are your thoughts on this? It scares me to death the kinds of charges that we may face throughout this....and we really can't afford 1100/month for CRAPPY insurance...horrible. Thanks!
