Hi everyone...we just returned from a couple days down at the

shore...notice the " down the shore " ...that is typical NJ...so I have

never gotten rid of that part of me....ha ha!!

Anyways, when we first mentioned going for a few days...my son's

first comment was ...no one consulted me...and then it was I don't

want to go. So, we said ...okay...you can stay but we are going to

the ocean. Then it was the 21 million questions ...who is going to

take care of the dogs, how often will they come in, are they going to

walk the dog, the dogs will miss us....etc etc.

Then he seemed okay...he hung with his friend all day Saturday..and

kept coming in to say " i love you " ...then finally he admitted he was

nervous and I told him I was too and that was okay. so he calmed

down a little bit.

Then the morning we were leaving he ran around looking for the tapes

he wanted to bring and his phone...but NO Xbox...love it...

When we arrived he was a little angry that we could not get in the

room right away...he wanted to swim...we walked around the boardwalk

for a while and then came back and waited. He kept saying he was

bored. And I said...and don't you think I not...I said we have to get

use to these things becuase this is real life.

When we finally got in ...he jumped into his suit and we went down to

the beach...he didn't have flip flops so he tried his dads. He swam

in the ocean and had a good time. But when we got back to the room

he seemed all sad...he was worried about the dogs again and wanted to

go home...he asked for another anxiety pill. I told him to wait and

we would calm my neighbor in a little bit. We called and she said

the dogs were fine and that made him feel better. After we ate, we

walked the boardwalk again and he found a Guitar Hero game and he

watched the kids playing it and then got to play it himself....of

course he jumped in front of another kid and I apologized and she was

just thankful that I noticed and apologized. That made him feel

better.

The next day ...he told his father to switch shoes with him...the

flip flops were killing his feet and so he wore his dad's sandals. He

went in the water and then he and his dad got a boggie board...of

course he didn't use it to surf in...he used it as a floating device

over the waves...hahahahah....he attached himself to this older boy

with a tatoo on his leg and his lip pierced but he looked like a

decent kid as I saw his parents and all....and it was good for him to

talk to others....so he had another great day.

That night he got a little fustrated as he could not find a pair of

comfortable sock or underwear. He kept trying them on and taking

them off...and then he gave up and laid on the bed. We said we would

be outside waiting for him.....finally he gave in and found something.

But that night when we came home ...he moaned about the sunburn and

the rash on his belly.

On our last day there...he could not decided what to wear to swim

in....his old bathing suit...he said is looked stupid on him or to

wear his basketball shorts with his underwear....the rash on his

belly hurt and he didn't want to wear the other swimsuit. He put one

on then took it off, put the other on and took it off...we gave him

all kinds of options...finally I said...we can spend the whole day

here in the room ...it doens't matter to me. I am burnt so I don't

mind. He then put on his old bathing suit and never said another word

about it. He spent the entire day in the ocean except to eat a slice

of pizza....he walked the beach looking for crabs. And then he met

another boy who was 13 and we ended up staying on the beach till

5:30. He had a good time.

And, as we were leaving he said...I wishing we didn't have to go....

So, all in all it was a pretty good time!
