To tell or not Tell a Parent

Ok guys I need your good advice....

My son was friends with E since kindergarten. E was on the heavy side

and picked on and he tended to be shy. I always told my son to include

him and to be nice. So over the years they have been friends...closer

one year and then off the next but it never worried me. E's mom is

great and she is so kind hearted...she just had her 4th child in

December.

Anyways...this year my son didn't have any one to play or hang with so

I said called Ethan....and he would say...no Ethan told me he's not my

friend...I could not believe it. He tried a couple of time but he was

always busy. When I spoke to E's mom...she said he had been trying to

get in with this group of cool kids and she was not very happy about it.

My son tried to play Xbox live with E but he was always busy. Well, E

mom called me to find out some information and invited us up. I told

her we were going on vacation so she said come up today (Thursday).E

was in football practice but hurt his toe and could not practice till

Friday....

Now here comes the sad part.....

wakes up today and I say remember we are going to E's house. He

said ...I am not going. E told him on Xbox live that " the only reason

my mom invited you was because you're poor and you all suck DxxK. You

are an axxbee...(whatever that means) "

So now what do I do...do I tell his mom what he said...do I go over

without my son ....do I not say anything as boys are boys....

In a way I want to tell his mom because if that was my son...I would

want to know how he is treating other kids....but I don't want her to

grund E becuase that will make him hate my son even more.

And, on top of it all...my son has no idea why E hates him now. That is

the saddest part....I am guessing because he wants in with the cool

kids and they probably don't like my son so now E can't like him either.

So sad....

Help me figure this out...
