Guest guest
, Here is a link for a good list of a lot of the SpEd abbreviations, acronyms & definitions. It's not complete but I liked it for it's definitions. http://sig.cls.utk.edu/Products/AcronymDefinitionPrimer.pdf Our SELPA has a list of acronyms but no definitions. Not sure if it covers everything but there's quite a lot! http://www.sloselpa.org/acronyms.htm I had needed a " cheat sheet " in our first years of the system. I had put a binder together for all of my son's IEPs & other papers. It was one that you could insert a sheet on the cover. I had put my son's picture or one of his pieces of artwork so whenever we met with a teacher or " expert " , we all were aware of who we were advocating for. Then on the same paper as the picture I had put a lot of those acronyms that were being used frequently so I could just glance down and remember what they all were. I did keep the full list just inside the cover. Anything that you can do to be on top of the " edubabble " & alphabet soup should help! > > Can anyone help me to understand some of these abbreviations and > mumbo jumbo?
