I'd been on a waiting list from the library to get his last book. I had no idea what was in it--in part--until last night I was up late on my computer and I was getting to those things I don't have time for. I'd been wanting to read some excerpts from Larry King's show when he had Autism topics. I found something with McCarthy and Dennis Leary. Apparently in his last book, he makes these moronic comments about "how autistic kids are not autistic--they' re just stupid and lazy." It's just so disgusting. I used to like that guy.

What kind of person makes those comments? I refuse to buy/read any of his "stuff." Thought I should pass this on in case there's anyone else that hadn't heard about it yet. Not meant to be inflammatory, but merely informative.

I know he got a lot of criticism of his views. Which is great.

It brings attention to the issues and it points out to others

how unpopular their ideas are. Thank goodness there was

some backlach on him. I am surprised by the teachers that are

so ill informed about AS kids. I really think people think

this kids are simply into their hobbies and that is to

the issues. How simplistic of a view point.
