Hi everyone,

Yesterday we had our IEP Team meeting for my son, who is going into first grade.

We met with his teacher, OT, speech, adjustment counselor, SPED coordinator for

the district, the principal and a first grade teacher from his new school.

Everyone was very nice and had good things to say about the progress he's made,

his enthusiasm, his general attitude, his academic performance, etc. The one

issue everyone came back to was his inability to focus, and their concern that

this is slowing down his academic progress. Right now he's in the middle of the

pack, so to speak, but their concern is that he is too easily distracted to

concentrate and may fall behind in first and second grade. We want him

mainstreamed, so he's going into a regular Gr. 1 classroom next year, with

paraprofessional support during the English and math.

I feel like he's come so, so far in the past year, but I am concerned abou tthe

focus issue. Some days he is just " on " and so present... other days it's like

he's asleep with his eyes open and it doesn't matter what you do or say, he's

just not there. Any suggestions for how to improve this?

Thanks,

Heidi

How do you know what supplements to use during the detox?

We already tried DMSA and it was a horrible experience!  Our son was so cranky

and depressed during it and we only lasted 6 wks!  Do you think we had removed

much in that short of time? Do you do yeast protocol the whole time?

If I use ALA how much do I use for a 11 yr. old at 80 lbs.?  I'm homeschooling

him so I can work with the ups and downs of detox.  When is a child too old to

detox?  I hear the younger they are the better the outcome!

Thanks so much Dana!

We are using NCD(natural cellular defense). Do you think NCD is as effective as

ALA or DMSA?

IMO Andy Cutler chelation is the safest and cheapest way to chelate, other

methods are risky.

Lots of research.

I have had to use a yeast protocol for most of the last 5 years.

I started low dose and gave it 3x per day. That worked very well here.

I have chelated myself. I was in my 30s when I started.

In my opinion, based on my research and also my experience, ALA is the most

effective and has the fewest potential side effects.
