Guest guest
Helen, I can only speak for myself and my own LDN experience, but since I've been on LDN (May '07), I've been able to get off my anti-depressants and don't feel near the anxiety which once plagued me. The only difference in my life is the LDN. I know the LDN helped because prior to taking LDN, I was never able to wean off my antidepressants. As Aletha said, IT DEFINITELY IS WORTH THE TRY!!!!!!! Plus, it can't hurt him.JanetRRMS 1994LDN May '07Aletha Wittmann <Aletha@...> wrote: It may be worth the try. Aletha [low dose naltrexone] ldn/seroquel/effexor Hi, A young man(31 year old) who is my good friend's son having lots physical/mental ailments. Doctor put him 800 mg. of sroquel plus heavy doze of Effexor for his severe anxiety and depression. He is also taking additional Ambien helping sleep. He also has psoriasis , allergy and sinus problem. Drugs gain him much weight and his heart beat always over 100. Although he sleeps 8 hours at night,he still feel extremetly tired that he need sleep in whole morning. He was so disable and not be able to hold any job or go to school. He is very vulnerabeto to cold and also constantly craving for sugar. I worry the heavy drugs will eventually kill him in the long haul. I am just wondering could LDN can rescue this hopeless youth. There will be an additional drug on top of that medication overload though? Do Seroquel/Effexor can be taken together with LDN? Or could LDN helping him reduce his other med.? Thank you for your help. Helen

Guest guest
Helen, I started at 1.5 for a month, moved up to 3 for a month and actually stayed there for a few months. I was doing very well with my MS at 3 until I had a small stress induced flare so I then moved up to 4.5 and have been there ever since. But even at 3 mg. I felt a "lift" in my mood and spirit. Due to many posts here about sleep disturbance, I would recommend starting slow, especially if he's needing Ambien to help him sleep. This won't happen over night. Even after being on LDN for a while, he needs to SLOWLY taper off those antidepressants. Hope this helps :)JanetHelen Wang <dingyung49@...> wrote: Thanks for members' response. worth a try and no harm...that directs me wanting to recommend LDN to him. Guest guest
Thanks, Janet I think there are lots works to do on this young man. His parent totally abadon him his brother did not want anything to do with him. My son grows up with him so I know him well. One time he told me he felt the world seems abadon him that he hinted want exit from this world. I want to help him and found a doctor here who has knowledge of LDN. I will call and make appt. with him. I don't expect the LDN miracle. I think one member mentioned brain chemistry inbalance is a big issue. If nothing works out, I can only pray and offer my caring and love all my best. many thanks for the help and support. Guest guest
Helen, The medications you mention should be OK with LDN. Does your young friend see a psychiatrist? It may be good to have the doctor you refer him to discuss LDN with the prescribing psychiatrist. Aside from the possible " sleep issues " in LDN that could destabilize him, but which can be worked with by dosing times on all his medications, I have heard of LDN contributing to a general feeling of well being. This is logical since LDN increases beta endorphin production. Please keep us posted on his progress. You are a very caring friend and it's an interesting approach to his problems. Best regards, a Thanks for members' response. worth a try and no harm...that directs me wanting to recommend LDN to him. Janet, how shall he proceed? start 1.5 mg?
