Guest guest
Hi All, I did some searching on the group and have found that LDN nullifies Immodium, but should I skip my dose tonight? I'm not sure if there are other side effects. I went to a restaurant and they gave me food I had requested not to have because I'm allergic to it and I had to run to the br at the restaurant so I took 1 immodium (not knowing it wouldn't work). I'm on day 2 of LDN. Should I just skip this dose and hope I don't get sick from the immodium, or is an interaction unlikely and should I just keep taking it? I feel dumb because earlier today I was looking at the drugs not to take with naltrexone and didn't see it..... Thank you! Cami
Guest guest
I just answered my own question.... the half life is 10 hours so I'll be skipping today's dose. I just started the LDN, so it shouldn't affect things too much. Just so people know, the two don't mix well (well, at least the Immodium doesn't work). Guest guest
> > Cami, I also read that immodium should not be taken with Naltrexone, but can't for the life of me think where?? What I take instead is an anti spasmodic drug called Mebeverine, and am trying to find a chemist that will sell pure Kaolin, and that's a problem!! However, since being on the LDN for five months, I have not needed Immodium, so I hope it works that way for you.... > Celia > Thanks Celia. I've actually had an increase in bathroom activity since starting the LDN (I haven't needed Immodium in a month and only just once in 3 months), but the increase is not anything like I've had before. It's not at the point where I'm upset about it - it takes a lot to do that I can't really afford to lose too much weight because the lupus has already made me drop so much, but hopefully things will improve enough that I don't have to worry about weight. It's been 3 days. I skipped the dose last night. Because Immodium does not pass the blood brain barrier, I don't think there would be large side effects (other than...well diarrhea), but thought it best to be safe than sorry since I'd taken it only 3 hours prior to bed and the half life is 9 hours After a couple days I do have more energy, which is what I need, so I'll keep up the LDN and see how things go. I know it's not a scientific source (and I did do back up research) but initially found info on wikipedia about it being related to opiates and found another site that listed naltrexone as negating the affects of Immodium. Thanks again! Cami
Guest guest
What about Lomotil (diphenoxylate hydrochloride and atropine sulfate) and LDN? Anybody using that? > > > > > > Cami, I also read that immodium should not be taken with Naltrexone, > but can't for the life of me think where??
