Guest guest
Hi Toni, I am not sure why you are taking LDN (illness, disease etc.) I have MS, dx Sept 07, LDN Oct 07. I have not changed my diet one bit, & I honestly don't notice, for me, that food makes any difference. Kristie [low dose naltrexone] Confused about relationship between LDN, candida, and a yeast-free diet Recently there have been so many posts about following a yeast-free (anti-candida) diet and taking anti-yeast supplements that I can't tell whether this is something that everyone is doing in order for the LDN to be effective or whether others who, like me, don't have symptoms of a yeast infection are feeling free to eat as they please as long as it's a healthy diet. Following a yeast-free diet would require a drastic change in my eating habits. For example, even if I eliminate wheat, oats and rye appear to also have gluten. And although I replaced dairy with soy milk several years ago, soy milk has some sugar in it too. In fact, it looks like all soy products are on the "don't eat" list.I would just like some feedback from others on whether they are, like me, feeling that the LDN is working even though they don't follow a no-yeast diet.Toni Internal Virus Database is out-of-date.Checked by AVG.Version: 7.5.430 / Virus Database: 268.14.6/536 - Release Date: 11/16/2006 3:51 PM
Guest guest
Hi Toni, I am also a little confused. I don't have a problem following an anti-yeast diet as mine is already gluten/yeast free and almost sugar free. However, I'm not sure whether or not I have to take an anti-yeast supplement / medication. I have recently been tested for candida overgrowth and it came back negative HOWEVER I've heard that you can still have yeast problems with a negative result for stool culture. Does anyone have any input regarding this? Should we be doing the anti-candida protocol ? Also, does P'eau darco or any of the other natural remedies interact with any other supplements? Thanks all, > > Recently there have been so many posts about following a yeast-free (anti-candida) diet and > taking anti-yeast supplements that I can't tell whether this is something that everyone is >
Guest guest
I just use no yeast when I feel I have to, due to some small flares. Then I bake my own bread with baking soda. Works for me. LDN helps me so much I don't have to change much. But I know a lot of those with IBD often need to combinate diets like The Makers Diet, or the SCD diet, or a yeast free diet, a gluten free diet, no milk, no sugar, no soy or other diets. Inflammated Bowel Disease tells us that the intestines are inflamed, and a lot of food is hard to digest, therefore several of us have tried many diets and have to stay away from certain foods of different reasons.
