Guest guest
I;'ve never heard of this from molybdenum (and the spironolactone does confuse things a lot), I'd suggest trying another brand. Also I have not heard of these genetic reports actually being useful or reliable, the advice so far seems random, to work for some and not others or to be given to everyone and work for everyone (thus you don't need to pay for the report to do it), and the rationale for most of the interventions is clearly incorrect. I'd worry about brand and what else is in the molybdenum product and whether this was coincidence. Guest guest
The molybdenum has not changed. I have been using Elyte Molybdenum drops for 4 years. We have been using the current bottle for at least a couple months. For my son, the molybdenum - constipation link is pretty much definite. This is the second time that we have observed the link. The improvement is overnight. And his behavior and happiness is much improved as well. He does also take molybdenum in his Brainchild minerals. I wonder if this molybdenum will become a constipation problem. > > > > My son has been taking 4 nightly drops of Elyte molybdenum drops for 4 > > years. > > > > Recently, due to his genetics, our DAN! had us reduce his molybdenum > > drops to 2 nightly drops. Guest guest
If it were the molybdenum causing constipation, it is very likely it would have been doing it for four years. We have not seen it do that at all in any of the three of us. Constipation is usually yeast, or foods. (not saying that your child might be different, he could be) I can note that for my one child stopping the moly did improve her disposition immensely. My other child after a year of using it, he kept waking up at 4 am and wanting to stay up for the day. When we stopped it, he slept regular again. So neither of my kids seem to need it anymore. It helped them at first, for a while. Now my daughter cannot take it at all, or it produces some serious mood problems. Never constipation though. I would check to see what other ingredients are in the moly, and try another one if the moly helps his moods/behaviors. If it doesn't help that at all, then take a break from it and see if the constipation returns...then you'll know it's a conincidence. > > > > > > My son has been taking 4 nightly drops of Elyte molybdenum drops > for 4 > > > years. > > > > > > Recently, due to his genetics, our DAN! had us reduce his > molybdenum > > > drops to 2 nightly drops. My kids, and me personally, became highly constipated from a few supplements, one of which was selenium. [The others were not minerals.] Apparently certain nutrients pull a LOT of magnesium for proper absorption, and adding magnesium eliminated the constipation problem. Not sure this would apply to your child, since you had been supplementing for 4 years, so presumably he was not as seriously deficient. But if the moly is helping, you might want to try adding some magnesium and see if that is the problem. Dana
