Guest guest
I experienced the same thing -- like a twilight sleep....definitely NOT a deep sleep. It's exhausting to have that kind of sleep. I had other nights that were better than that, but generally I just did NOT do well on night time dosing and switched to day time dosing after 6wks of night time dosing. OK -- I have thyroid disease (Hashis) and I know that the MS folks seem to do better with night time dosing, so if MS is your issue then I would look into some kind of sleep aid so you can take it at night. My husband takes 4.5mg at night and has NEVER had any sleep issues. He takes LDN for arthritis and as a prevention for his cancer returning. You may have just been nervous about your first dose and that kind of anxiety will also contribute to sleep issues...you just have to figure out what works for you. Best wishes... Guest guest
How did you take HALF a 'pill'? Did you pour our half the contents? How do you know you took half and not just all filler? or maybe just .75? If you're freaking out, your body will react if you took Iced Tea Take the FULL 3.0 capsule and see how it goes. Try some meditation too good luck [low dose naltrexone] New on LDN Have some questions, I am new to LDN. I took my first pill of LDN last night and I slept horribly. I took a half pill just to try it out so it was only 1.5 mg pill (full pill is 3.0). I heard people complaining about dreams and all but does this affect sleep? I felt like I was asleep all night but barely asleep, kinda like I was almost just lying there is a state between sleep and being awake. I am not certain I can stand another night of this. Lately I have been sleeping great. Let me know if this is a normal reaction. I would hate to see how I sleep with a full 3.0 mg pill.Any feedback would be appreciated.Thank you,------------------------------------
Guest guest
For what it's worth, my girlfriend has Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and now takes her 3.0mgs homemade liquid LDN in the late afternoon. Taking it during the suggested evening hours was, so she says, causing leg cramps thereby disturbing her sleep. She also takes Levothyroxine. Not sure of the amount. I continue with 11:00PM dosing via 4.5mg capsule from Skip's Pharmacy. -Art Diagnosed with MS April 1988 Using LDN since March 2005 My MS/LDN story: http://preview.tinyurl.com/5tcp6r -- > > I experienced the same thing -- like a twilight sleep....definitely > NOT a deep sleep. Guest guest
It's not a narcotic, steroid or chemotherapy so it should be okay to use with LDN Art -- I experienced the same thing - - like a twilight sleep....definitely > NOT a deep sleep. Guest guest
that is exactly what i have been experiencing. i've had it 4 nites now and am exhausted. i sleep about 3 h normally when i 1st go to bed and after that i feel like i am between sleep and being awake. it's hell. when am comes i feel like i've barely slept. i got pills for 4.5 mg so i guess i have to go back and get them to make some lower dose pills for me. any recommends. on what amt. i should have them made up in? does this wear off after awhile? i feel so groggy in the am. i also feel kind of like i used to when i would take narcotic painkillers at nite. a bit nauseous and dry mouth and cotton head. anyone else have this? i guess if LDN is used to remedy drug addiction maybe it mimics some of the effects good and bad of taking drugs??? monique
Guest guest
I started LDN at 1.5 mg. two weeks ago. The first two nights, I experienced fitful sleep but it corrected itself by the third night. My doctor said I should move up to 3 mg. after 10 days, but I was reluctant to double the dose, so I opened the capsule and, on a sheet of paper, put the powder into two equal piles (it looked like the filler was equally distributed throughout). I put half the pile in a cup and filled it with water, drinking it down with a 1.5 mg. pill. Thus, I took a total of 2.25 mg. that night. I stuffed the other pile back into the capsule to use the next night so that I would take 2.25 mg. two nights before going to 3 mg. This worked well for me -- increasing by these small increments. It's clear to me from reading posts here and on other sites over the last month that there is a great range of reactions to taking LDN at night -- from no sleep interference, to serious sleep interference, to everything in between. But it does seem that most people adjust to a new dose within 2-3 days, so I would stick with your plan to take 1.5 mg. by opening up the capsule for the next few days. The odds are in your favor that your body will adjust just fine and your sleep won't be interrupted as it was on the first night. Good luck, Toni
Guest guest
If you've just started LDN you'd be well advised to start on a very low dose then gradually work your way up. Give your body a chance to acclimate itself to LDN. First month 1.5mgs, second month 3.0mgs, third month 4.5mgs or whatever works best for you. Try not to rush things. Guest guest
Instead of opening the capsule and trying to divide up the dosage by stuffing it back in the capsule (sounds difficult and inaccurate), I would drop the capsule in a glass of distilled water, let it dissolve, mix well, then drink half the glass of water. Refrigerate the leftover amount and drink it the next night. Art -- > > I started LDN at 1.5 mg. two weeks ago. Guest guest
Hi , Cut back to 1.5 and use that until you are sleeping better. It won’t do much for you at that dose, but your body will get used to it. Then go to 3. Once that stabilizes you can try 4.5. The highest dose isn’t for everyone. I didn’t do well at 4.5 and now use 3.5 successfully. Guest guest
hi how does one make the homemade liquid LDN? the 4.5 mg was too much for me so after 5 nites at that dose and not sleeping i mixed capsule contents into water last nite, dissolved it thoroughly, then drank half so i got 2.25 mg. will do that for a few nites and then up to 3/4 and see how that goes. is that the recipe for liquid LDN? thanks monique For what it's worth, my girlfriend has Hashimoto's Thyroiditis and now takes her 3.0mgs homemade liquid LDN in the late afternoon.
