Guest guest
Carol, ALA is also good for liver pain. I've alternated between milk thistle and ALA for the past few years, and they both do the job. What a relief. Liver aching is a sensation of heaviness, like it's going to fall out on the floor! Barb << Cheney's comment on Lipoic Acid: This is a powerful anti-oxidant and plays a major role in protecting the brain. It may be one of the most important supplements, particularly for the central nervous system. 100 to 300 mg. daily. Take care. Guest guest
-Q: What is ALA or LA? Alpha lipoic acid (ALA or LA) is an over-the-counter supplement which has been found to effectively chelate mercury. Unlike DMSA and DMPS, LA will cross the blood-brain barrier, and so it can move mercury out of or into the brain. LA should not be used if there has been recent mercury exposure (within 3 months) or if your child has high copper levels, since LA reduces copper excretion. Lipoic Acid. It doesn't couple. Not only that, but > it will recycle glutathione back to its reduced state - without ever coupling > to it. Lipoic Acid is thought to recycle up to 30% of the body's glutathione. > So I think the very best antioxidant to take, especially if you're taking > Immunocal or IMUPlus, is Lipoic Acid. > > > > >
