Guest guest
Hi Barb A protocol in medicine are the guidelines for taking a drug, with ref to the quantity, frequency and contraindications etc- I think! Antibiotics, mainly minocycline are taken by as a DMARD by many Rheumatoid Arthritis sufferers. The protocol was originated by McPherson Brown in the 1950s who believed that RA was caused by an invading germ/virus-like life form in our bodies called mycoplasma. Like all the other DMARDs, it has mixed results from total remission to nothing in patients taking it. The antibiotic is said to eliminate the mycoplasma. Other researchers say that the antibiotic has only an anti-inflammatory effect and does not stop the disease damage. The Jury is still out. Since Ive been battling for about 8 yrs, I wantto give it at least a year. I would like to be on agroup that is just RA and LDN since most of these areMS related...so many to sort through.Good Luck to you, --- leonie cent <leoniecentbigpond> wrote:> Hi everyone,> > I've been inactive on the list for a while, but I'm> still interested in LDN. > > Are there any other people with Rheumatoid Arthritis> on the list at the moment ? > > I am going to start on the Antibiotic Protocol for> RA soon, but I'd rather do LDN as it sounds safer> than any therapy I've heard of. > > Best wishes to all,> > ~Leonie (Canberra, ACT)> __________________________________________________________Never miss a thing.
