Guest guest
OK, my 12 yo daughter is not making any progress. We have gone GF/CF, added probiotics and zinc. I am hoping that she is just going through some kind of cleansing. I see no change in her behavior. She is still so crabby, so frustrating for me to be around. Someone help... Guest guest
I've requested samples to take to our dr to get muscle tested for her. Guest guest
Hi, . Is she going through puberty? You might want to get her checked out by a naturopath to see if they can give her any supplements to help this process. Has yeast overgrowth been eliminated? My irritability was caused by yeast. After just 1 day of taking an antifungal supplement, I felt so much better. Is she on any essential fatty acids? If not, you might want to try a balanced omega 3, 6, and 9 such as Udo's. I was taking cod liver oil with really no results (my muscle response test failed it), but the balanced formula is doing wonders with my mood. Have the doctor do MRT for all the supplements you might be interested in her taking. Chances are they have Udo's 3 6 9. GSE and oil of oregano would be good to kill yeast too. Guest guest
I honestly think until enzymes are on board, a yeast protocol and chelation, your job may not be done. Get on the autism mercury board and keep going. You may want to do like an oat test from Great Plains and a hair test and see what's up. I did enzymes first, wasn't sure we had progress until we stopped for a couple months. Boy it was down hill from there. Now with Brainchild Vit/min, did some testing, yeast was huge, probiotics. Keep going. Tammy Re: not much progress OK, my 12 yo daughter is not making any progress. We have gone GF/CF, added probiotics and zinc. Guest guest
Yes, our naturepath gave her probiotics (2 kinds) to kill off yeast, as well as Omegas (she's been taking Omegas for years now). The dr special ordered a supplement to help her liver excrete her extra-copper (she tested toxic). She was also given St 's Wort and 5HTP (but I was already giving her the latter). She is going through puberty, but she's been difficult from the beginning (birth). I don't know about the Oil of Oregano, how do I administer that? Thanks for responding, ________________________________ From: McCartney <katie.mccartney@...> Sent: Saturday, November 22, 2008 7:10:36 PM Subject: Re: not much progress Hi, . Guest guest
Thank you. We did a hair test, and she is copper-toxic, thus the zinc. Our naturepath also special-ordered a supplement to help her liver expel the metal. We are doing a yeast protocol also. Omegas and 5 HTP have been on-board for atleast 6 months, as well as Cal/Mag. What is an oat test? Is it for food allergies? ________________________________ From: Tammy Kuhn <tkuhn1@...> Sent: Saturday, November 22, 2008 9:27:23 PM Subject: Re: not much progress I honestly think until enzymes are on board, a yeast protocol and chelation, your job may not be done. Guest guest
If you goggle Great Plains, they offer lots of different testing. Again, get on the mercury autism board. Chelation is huge over there. Reading the hair test to see if mercury toxic. I think following both boards for months and longer, you may be able to figure out how and help your child by hearing how others use supplements to help their symptoms. It is hit and miss and just trying different things. Epson salt baths too, great for releasing toxins and relaxing. Tammy Re: not much progress OK, my 12 yo daughter is not making any progress. Guest guest
Oil of oregano comes in a capsule form. It kills different types of yeast. http://www.vitacost.com/Source-Naturals-Wellness-Oil-of-Oregano I would question the probiotics - some people can't tolerate them (my son got really emotional on Culturelle, and it wasn't the casein in there as he doesn't have problems with it). You could try GSE and oil of oregano to kill yeast, and a different brand of probiotics to establish the good bacteria. I would also make sure it's not die-off symptoms. Start at the lowest dose possible and gradually go up. Also look at what's in the omegas. Make sure it's free of foods she can't tolerate. And I have to mention again that some people need a balanced formula instead of just omega 3. Did the naturopath do an MRT on the omegas? Here's the group: / I bought Cutler's book and am half way done. It's really a lot of info that I don't understand half the time, but it does help in deciding what you want to use for chelation. Guest guest
Probiotics will not be enough to get rid of the yeast. You'll most likely need some caprylic acid (a capsule) and/or grapefruit seed extract (drops). Someone here suggested also oil of oregano, which is very strong. You might want to wait to see if you need it. Anyway getting yeast under control should help her disposition. Also, could the St. 's wort be causing extra problems? My daughter couldn't tolerate it. Another thing, about the omegas. They ususally add vitamin E. Vit E is almost always sourced from soy. That could be another big problem. > > Yes, our naturepath gave her probiotics (2 kinds) to kill off yeast, as well as Omegas (she's been taking Omegas for years now). Guest guest
Everything my kids and I take has been muscle tested, as we as SO sensitive. I will ask her about the Oil of Oregano. The St 's Wort was recommended due to the way she tested. ________________________________ From: svallo44024 <frankvallo@...> Sent: Sunday, November 23, 2008 5:40:48 PM Subject: Re: not much progress Probiotics will not be enough to get rid of the yeast. Guest guest
, I'm not so sure about the muscle test anymore... I noticed yesterday that I had a different type of headache all day, and I was a bit achy, and it seemed to get worse after I took my evening dose of Udo's 3 6 9 EFA blend. I was also a bit irritable yesterday, not sure if it was because if I ate sort of bad in the morning... I didn't take the EFA today, and no headache or body ache yet. I'll have to see if it's the weather or the EFA. MRT showed I could take 3 a day, and I only took 2. So I'm wondering if MRT is 100% reliable... I'll let you know what I find out by experimenting.
