Guest guest
My son is the exact same way, just for a couple of hours after falling asleep he sweats so much I feel I need to change his clothes sometimes because he is so wet, hair is soaked. After a couple of hours he is fine. I would love to hear any insight to this. Shell From: kim <kimmyk47@...> Subject: excessive sweating when first falling asleep? Received: Friday, June 26, 2009, 3:07 AM hello, my son, who is now 6, has had an excessive night sweating issue since he was 4. it seemed like it appeared almost over night two years ago. it is only when he goes to sleep and only for the first couple of hours after falling asleep, the rest of the night he is fine. he is fine when he goes to sleep, but as soon as he is in a deep sleep it's like his whole body sweats over. so much so that his hair is almost like he took a shower and when he rolls over his pillow and sheet are dampened. sometimes he is flat out wet with sweat. has anyone heard of this? any ideas on where to find out a cause? is this symptomatic of anything you know of? your help is greatly appreciated! thank you kim
Guest guest
My son is the exact is same way. Dry when he goes to sleep and dry when he wakes up but...for the first couple hours (summer & winter) he sweats an incredible amount. I remember someone on this group telling me that it was his body detoxing now that it was resting. I'd be interested in any other opinions too! Guest guest
just an FYI, my son has Type I Diabetes, and both hypoglycemia and hyperglycemia can cause excessive sweating during sleep also. This is a common symptom of the body detoxing in the nighttime, from something it encountered during the day that it did not tolerate.
