Guest guest
Yeast ... Not an uncommon infection after antibiotics ... especially in girls. Try using some oil of oregano, biotin, gse or something like that or in combination... Should get better. Guest guest
Could she have an yeast issue? My son is having issues with night peepotting....and I am thinking it might have to do with yeast....especially since she is on antibiotics...if it started before then, I would definately start the D-mannose... Strep is nasty...it can be systemic as well as just the throat. We used SPS30 by theramedix to help. Ask her if it burns when she pees or if she has pressure in that area. If she does...I would contact her doctor about it. Systemic strep is a very sneaky thing...a friend of ours had a daughter with it...and showed no symptoms...and had all kinds of issues....this is not meant to scare you....but just to inform strep can be systemic too... hth Ronni > > My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is having > a problem with it now. Guest guest
Yeast: Yes..I have been treating her yeast for months..to reverse the damage antibiotics did to her 2 years ago...that's why I was so upset in giving her antibiotics again..she has been antibiotic free for 2 yrs. She is/was a " strepper " is this what you mean by systemic strep? I am assuming with this heavy duty antibiotic she is on, if she has a UTI..the antibiotic should kill that as well? I have " up'd " her yeast protocol and probiotics...I am just so afraid to start that vicious " antibiotic cycle " ..I can't, I won't! So I pray this time around works. I do have to add..I have NEVER seen strep this bad in her ever. So maybe I was able to pull the virus to its surface with the yeast protocol..and maybe, just maybe kill it for good. Thanks!!! https://www.autisminsideout.com/ > > > > My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is having > > a problem with it now. Guest guest
Thanks Melinda, It started before she was on antibiotics (2 days before) BUT, she was on heavy doses of OLE...I was trying EVERYTHING to avoid the Dr and the script. She has been on the GSE, Biotin and occasional OOO for close to year now. I do know the OLE kick up yeast, but I did " up " her yeast protocol due to that...this has to be the WORST strep I have seen her with. It is day 2 on antibiotics (strong) and " some " relief. White film in her mouth is gone, but her tonsils as she calls them " look like meatballs " and still having some difficulty talking and dizzy...The Dr did mention mono...but since her test came back + for strep, he didn't think mono. But HELLO??? She is a strepper..he even said back in the day when we started with him, No sense in strep tests, she will always show + " ...so maybe mono??? Time will tell. Thanks! https://www.autisminsideout.com/ > > > > My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is having > > a problem with it now. Guest guest
Is she coughing a lot? I know when I am coughing a lot I start to leak a little after a while. Although I am not sure if that is really relevent since I am a 38yo woman who has had several pregnancies and had bladder surgery when I was 4. > > My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is having > a problem with it now. Guest guest
For us this is severe yeast. Which, with an antibiotic treatment will only be aggravated. Heavy probiotics and strong yeast treatment eliminate this issue for us. Strep then Bladder control?? My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is having a problem with it now. She has been home sick all week with what I thought was a virus..then she started complaining about her throat, when I took a look..her throat (tonsils) were swollen, red, with white puss all over her mouth. She was on so much OLE and GSE..apparently not working fast enough. So I took her to the Dr..of course antibiotics..strep..I was so beside myself about HAVING to give antibiotics again I forgot to ask about her 'new " problem. She has been for the last few days unable to hold her urine 100%...this is a child that potty trained early and NEVER had an accident after. She is not " wetting " herself..just dribbling a bit..waking at night, saying her underwear is wet?? What would cause this..being sick? An infection? Guest guest
, I use to get UTI's all the time with antibiotic treatment ... Typically needed a different antibiotic to treat that ... and then would come the vaginal yeast infection. It was indeed a vicious cycle. If she had mono ... typically I don't think antibiotics would do anything for that... Have you considered having her tonsils removed? If she is a strep kind of gal ... (which my PANDAS daughter was ...) then removing the tonsils will help. Then you can work to get rid of the strep from the body without the tonsils having to constantly be reinfected IMHO... My daughter kept getting strep over and over and over again ... and we had the same scenareo as you describe happening over and over again. It was awful. I took her to an ENT and told them I couldn't take it anymore. When they x-rayed her adenoids ... they were so large they were actually obstructing her breathing ... so they took them both out. From there it has been an uphill battle for years ... but atlas we are now winning the strep war. Her panels are all improving and her Pandas is now nearly gone... Hope things improve soon. Guest guest
Melinda, They have " mentioned " it to remove the tonsils..but that is all. I am just so leary of Dr's..she has been thru 9 and all of them either think I am nuts, they blow me off or just keep pushing antibiotics. She was strep free for almost 2 years! I have even taken her to an ENT and believe it or not..he had no comment on her enlarged tonsils..so with that..I just don't trust ANYONE! Although, in my heart I do feel they need to be removed...I also hear it is SO painful..which is another reason of fear for me. This kid has been to hell and back with Dr's...either misdiagnosing, being mean...geez, even her 1st trip to the dentist, she was man handled, due to her sensory issues! Took her to a podiatrist, for toe walking..he wanted to slice open her calves to stretch the tendons! Just crazy stuff! Scary stuff! We live in NY..between NY and NJ, you would figure we could get go medical Drs?? NOT! But, please fill me in on the details of tonsil/adenoid removal...I know one of these days, it will have to be done Thanks! > > > > > > > > My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is > having > > > > a problem with it now. Guest guest
Hi , I just read your post about the T & A removal. My son was 3 yrs. old when he had his removed. After a sleep study showed his oxygen level went down to 90% when he slept and the x-ray show a pin hole of breathing space between his T & A's. The surgery was quick. He was only 3 at the time and non-verbal. We could not get him to drink fluids, but he had no problem eating food. The hardest part was getting him to drink (the ENT warned us about that before the surgery). They need a two week recovery, but after the first week you will see them getting slowly back to normal. I know you said your child is 9, so I am not sure if it is easier or harder to get them to drink fluids when they are older. I also had some " whacky " Dr.'s. Just keep in mind, that many ENT's can perform this surgery at Children's Hospital's even if they are in their own practice. My own ENT who has his own practice, did my son's surgery. I thought that by going to Children's Hospital in Boston and another well known hospital for children that I would get the best Dr. in pediatrics, but that was not the case. Anyway, if you are not comfortable with what the Dr. is saying, stick with your instincts and find someone you will trust. Good luck! Guest guest
Hi My 8 year old NT son had both removed this summer. He had large tonsils, snored and had many bouts with strep. Dr. Reid Lachman in town, NJ did a great job. My son has been very healthy ever since. There was pain, mostly in the 3rd - 6th days when the healing really began (basically the mouth heals with cancer sores, so that was what was in the back of his mouth), but with pain management, it was manageable. Good Luck. Carla Re: Strep then Bladder control?? Melinda, They have " mentioned " it to remove the tonsils..but that is all. Guest guest
, The tonsil/adenoid removal should have been done years and years earlier in my daughter. She suffered over and over again ... and eventually her strep lead her to start having seizures and become a horrible PANDAS kid... For years we have worked to get her back from the grips of tourettes. She is now almost fully recovered. Her only one tic left is a mild head shake ... and her seizures are gone... I won't lie ... the surgery was awful for her. Days 1 and 2 were ok ... she was still on her pain meds... But days 3, 4 and 5 were a nightmare... She was in pain and refused to swallow much of anything... including her saliva ... gross I know.. Talk about hideous druling! I finally explained to the doctor on the end of day 3 that I wouldn't give her the pain medicine all day.. but if I could have it at least for the hours she needed to be drinking it would make things easier .. and she wouldn't dehydrate and die. Things got much better then... They don't like to give pain meds long for fear of bleeding issues .. and I understand that ... but really something had to be done... and they had to understand they either needed to rehospitalize her and use IV rehydration ... or something. But then bliss. It was the first part of her healing. Her tourettes started to improve at once because her strep load was reduced... I now call it the necessary evil that we just had to go through... And yes I know about doctors. I have all kinds of nicknames for doctors that have messed over my children. We have had Many doctors ... military family many moves.... We have had doctor Wait n See ... We had Doctor Roseola (she always blamned everything on roseola...) We had Doctor Hmmmm I Wonder ... We had Doctor Jab em and Stab em ... We had Doctor Big Idiot ... We had Doctor I don't give a Rip ... We had Dr. Neurotic Psycho ... We had Doctor Ignore The Plain Facts ... We had Dr Where'd you Find you License ... we had Dr. Ghee I don't know ... heres your meds... And the best of all We have Doctor I'm NO Help, but heres my bill! And those were only the really bad ones!!!! We have also had some excellent docs along the way ... so it keeps my hopes alive that not all of them are bad apples!!! Guest guest
Just wanted to comment on the tonsil/adenoid procedure. My son, who is so so sensitive to pain, did very well with the surgery. And he has gotten sick a lot less - always he would develope complications with any virus, asthma and all kinds of issues, but he has been much better since the surgery. We had pain medication around the clock too. There was one day where it was really bad - maybe day five or six, but we lived through it. I don't know why you weren't given pain meds, but my son was on them for the first five days constantly (every four hours) and then as needed after that. I was really surprised - my son ate a full meal the same day he had the surgery, but i would bet this was cause he was still feeling the sedation affects. The greatest part was he slept much better after surgery. He was always a mouth breather too and that has stopped since surgery. All in all, I think it is very worthwile to have this done. Difficult for a week or two, yes, but great after that! Viola livninfaith <gmalleyne@...> wrote: , The tonsil/adenoid removal should have been done years and years earlier in my daughter. Guest guest
My son used to get cronic throat infections! They wanted to remove them. I thought no way, they are there for a reason(they trap bacteria etc befor it can go any further). Anyways, we started him on warm salt water gargles. The reason antibiotics dont work is that the tonsils have crevises. These bacteria/germs/virus's get trapped in there. It takes something more abrasive like warm salt water gargles. And we started him eating garlic. That was several years ago and to this date he has had only one mild soar throat and we went write for the salt water and that has been that. This is what the military uses for throat infections etc. Best of luck, Jennie<>< > > > > > > > > > > My 9 yr old who have NEVER wet her bed or soiled her pants..is > > having > > > > > a problem with it now. Guest guest
I had my tonsils/adenoids out at age 21. I had a history of strep as a child, my doctor didn't want to take them out. After getting mono when I was 17 my tonsils were permanently enlarged. In college I kept getting strep, I finally demanded to have them out because I was sick of being on antibiotics. I was in a lot of pain and after day 2 I started to get headaches from the pain medication so I could not take anything (not even tylenol.) The first few days were bad and I ate mostly soup for a few weeks. Someone younger would probably heal faster than I did. Glad I had the surgery, wish I had done it earlier; I went from being constantly sick to getting one cold virus a year. I went 10 years without taking antibiotics! Guest guest
System strep is something like yeast. It travels thru out the body. One friend (the child) it traveled around and hit her bladder and kidneys and then several other spots. It was a nasty time. Our other friend (the adult) it would lay dormant until he got a small injury and then it would flare up terribly. For him it became life threatening. For us, olive leaf and SPS30, virastop and lots of C were the answers..we had strep throat and it responded pretty well. Took some time to get rid of it....but when the kids got it again...I had them gargle with GSE(actually put a couple drops on their tongues and had them gargle the spit...so it was strong) and upped the C, virastop and SPS30 and it was gone quickly. Sorry for taking so long to answer, but have had a few other issues here.
